Transportation / Infrastructure

For commercial interests, the Hudson Valley region is ideally situated on the Boston/Washington corridor. Quick access to New York City, the Northeast and Canada is provided by the NYS Thruway, and Interstates 84, 684 and 287, as well as Amtrak, Conrail and Metro-North rail services. Stewart International Airport, with about 65 scheduled passenger flights daily, has U.S. customs services, Foreign Trade Zone facilities, and corporate aviation and expansive air freight facilities. Cargo carriers out of Stewart Airport include Emery Worldwide, UPS, Airborne and Federal Express. It is one of the nation's largest airports in terms of land size, with easy access to key interstate highways, rail and a deep water intermodal port.
